Zusammenfassung:	A method and an apparatus for performing direct communication with at least one other user equipment are provided. The method and apparatus comprises upon generation of an event requiring the direct communication, transmitting a floor request, monitoring whether a response to the floor request is received from at least one adjacent UE, if a response to the floor request is not received until the floor request is transmitted a predetermined number of times at a predetermined interval, determining that a transmission right for the direct communication is granted, and if it is determined that the transmission right is granted, transmitting a signal to the at least one other UE by the direct communication.
