Zusammenfassung:	A rope protector for protecting a rope as it passes through a grating. The rope protector comprises an enclosed channel portion, a head portion and a foot portion. The channel portion is waisted to allow the rope to be rotated within a hole in a grating. The head portion extends laterally from one end of the channel portion to prevent passage of the rope protector through the grating hole and the foot portion extends laterally from the other end of the channel portion to be passed through the grating hole when aligned with the grating hole and to prevent the foot portion being removed from the grating hole when rotated.
