Zusammenfassung:The present disclosure relates to an imaging element enabling fixed-length compression of image data while avoiding generation of a prohibition code, and an imaging device and method. Image data obtained in a light reception unit that receives incident light and performs photoelectric conversion is Golomb-encoded, and is compressed into encoded data not including a prohibition code by adding an inverse code of encoded data of bit 1 to an LSB. The present disclosure can be applied to an imaging device.
