Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure relates to the development of antibodies that are targeted to disease specific function directing regions of osteopontin. Such antibodies are capable of binding osteopontin and of selectively blocking one or more functions of osteopontin. In one aspect, the disclosures are based on the discovery that such antibodies spontaneously occur in certain diseases, and have therapeutic utility for the treatment of one or more osteopontin related diseases, where they are capable of selectively blocking the role of osteopontin in disease progression.
