Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for generating 3D data relating to an object, in particular for generating underwater maps. This method comprises the following steps: providing two-dimensional image data relating to the surface of the object, for example the bottom of a body of water, together with reference information; providing a three-dimensional heightmap of a predetermined portion of the object or the bottom of a body of water; and mapping the two-dimensional image data as texture on the three-dimensional heightmap using the reference information.
