Presentation of the spherical video content on a display may be effectuated. Pointing information characterizing a user's usage of a pointer with respect to the presentation of the spherical video content may be obtained. The pointer information may indicate particular viewing directions within the spherical video content from the point of view as the function of progress through the progress length of the spherical video content. A viewing direction of an event of interest within the spherical video content from the point of view and a viewing moment within the progress length of the spherical video content at which the event of interest occurs may be identified based on the pointing information.
