The mobile terminal includes a main body having a front surface and a rear surface, at least one sensor disposed on the front surface of the main body, a display unit including a main display region disposed at the front surface of main body and first and second sub-display regions extending from the main display region and disposed with the at least one sensor interposed therebetween, and a controller controlling at least one function in response to a touch input applied to the display unit, wherein the controller controls different functions on the basis of which of the main display region, the first sub-display region, and the second sub-display region, the touch input starts from.
