The UAV may perform distracting or deterring measures to prevent the threat from coming into contact with the UAV such as releasing a package attached to the UAV. In other embodiments, the UAV may release a package or cord connected to the UAV if either has been captured by a threat on the ground so that the UAV may escape unharmed.
