The pet door assembly includes an exterior frame positioned on a first side of the first panel adjacent the pet door opening, an interior frame positioned on a second side of the first panel adjacent the pet door opening, and a pet door flap mounted to one of or between the interior frame and exterior frame and positioned within the pet door opening.
