METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PROVIDING ELECTRICAL BALANCING POWER FOR STABILIZING AN ALTERNATING-CURRENT GRID

A method for providing electrical balancing power for stabilizing an alternating-current grid that operates at a preset frequency of, for instance, 50 Hz. A combination unit provides the balancing power. The combination unit is composed of a battery forming an electrical storage device taking in electrical energy from the alternating-current grid or from a generating plant and supplying power to the grid over a first time period. A gas- and/or oil-CHP plant and a generator form an energy producer which, after a start-up phase, delivers energy into the grid over a second period of time. An open-loop and closed-loop controller controls the inflows and outflows of energy within the combination unit in dependence on a grid-control parameter reference value such that the electrical energy supplied to the alternating-current grid by the combination unit or taken from the alternating-current grid by the latter corresponds to the reference value of a balancing energy requisition.
