Zusammenfassung:	A separating apparatus for a vacuum cleaner has a cyclonic separating chamber having a separator axis, a shroud disposed within the cyclonic separating chamber, an inner debris collection chamber for collecting debris separated by the cyclonic separating chamber, and an outer debris collection chamber for collecting debris separated by the cyclonic separating chamber. The inner debris collection chamber has a base and a debris outlet in fluid communication with the outer debris collection chamber. A shortest distance between the shroud and the base in a direction parallel to the separator axis is between 40% to 60% of a largest distance between the cyclonic separating chamber and the base in a direction parallel to the separator axis.
