Zusammenfassung:	A dirt separator for a vacuum cleaner includes a first separation stage having a first dirt collection chamber for storing dirt removed by the first separation stage; a second separation stage positioned downstream of the first separation stage, the second separation stage having a second dirt collection chamber for storing dirt removed by the second separation stage; and a selectively-releasable latch mechanism. At least part of the latch mechanism is provided on an outer surface of a sidewall of the second dirt collection chamber.
