The power limiting stress-strain monitor system also includes an electronic controller including a processor and a memory. The processor receives a signal from the stress-strain sensor, determines a degree of stress-strain at a location of the stress-strain sensor based on the signal, identifies a machine system associated with the stress-strain, and modifies a control signal to the machine system based on the degree of stress-strain.
