Locking Device for Adjustable Wrench Jaw

Systems, method, and apparatus for locking a movable component of a tool into an operationally static position. A locking mechanism embedded within an interior cavity of a tool is operationally connected to a squeeze handle via a linkage assembly. When the handle is squeezed, the linked assembly drives the locking mechanism toward the movable component. Corresponding gear racks on the locking element and movable element inhibit movement in both vectors, using a zero degree pressure angle to strongly inhibit movement in another factor, and using a non-zero degree pressure angle to less firmly inhibit movement in an opposing vector.
