Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a backlight unit, which comprises: a light source; and a light conversion layer installed to be spaced from the light source and changing the wavelength of light entering from the light source to be emitted, and a display device including the backlight unit. The light conversion layer comprises a polymer matrix and a plurality of anisotropic semiconductor nanocrystals distributed in the polymer matrix. The polymer matrix comprises a polymer comprising a repetition unit of the following chemical formula. [Chemical formula 1] Herein, R^1, R^2, R^3 are as defined above. The polymer shows elastic motion at a temperature, which is not less than the glass transition temperature and not more than 100 degrees. The plurality of anisotropic semiconductor nanocrystals are aligned in the direction of the major axis thereof to allow the light conversion layer to emit polarized light. The backlight unit is able to improve optical efficiency of a liquid crystal display device.
