The arrangement of the optic holders within the lighting system results in gaps (220) between neighboring optic holders. The system includes a plurality of interstitial spacers (310) manufactured on or attached to the upper edge region of the optic holders, such that the interstitial spacers are arranged to substantially fill the one or more gaps.
