The mobile terminal comprises a sound output unit; a display unit displaying a plurality of level objects enabling the user to select a frequency gain predetermined according to the user's age in a sound setting mode; a microphone receiving external noise; and a controller outputting through the sound output unit a sound adjusted with a gain obtained as a summation of a gain adjusted in accordance with a selected level object and a gain adjusted in accordance with the level of input noise.
