Zusammenfassung:	A water jacket spacer is arranged to surround substantially an entire periphery of a portion of the cylinder liner which corresponds to the water jacket. An opening through which a coolant introduced from a coolant-introducing section is introduced to an inner side of a water jacket spacer is formed in a portion of the water jacket spacer which corresponds to the coolant-introducing section. An upper section of the water jacket spacer is positioned close to a cylinder block outer peripheral wall. A coolant passage through which the coolant introduced from the opening is circulated around an outer periphery of an upper portion of the cylinder liner is formed between the upper section of the water jacket spacer and the outer periphery of the upper portion of the cylinder liner. A lower section of the water jacket spacer is positioned close to the cylinder liner.
