An audible signal of at least one near-end user can be voice activity detected at the apparatus. At least one audio output channel of multiple audio output channels can be operated on to attenuate acoustic pressure representative of the audio signal near at least one microphone aperture location when the audible signal of the at least one near-end user is detected at the apparatus.
