Zusammenfassung:A method for a mobile communication device to reduce call recovery time associated with a cell update procedure is provided. The method includes the steps of: detecting an Access Stratum (AS) abnormality when making a call in a third-generation (3G) cellular network; decreasing one or more parameters, which are obtained from the 3G cellular network, associated with the cell update procedure in response to detecting the AS abnormality; and applying the decreased parameters for the cell update procedure to enable an early cell reselection procedure.
