Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus for calculating State of Charge (SOC) of a secondary battery by correcting a terminal voltage includes: a voltage measuring device that measures a terminal voltage of a battery; a voltage corrector that corrects the terminal voltage using a predetermined factor obtained from a characteristic of the battery; and a SOC calculator that calculates SOC of the battery based on the corrected terminal voltage. A method for calculating SOC includes steps of: measuring the terminal voltage of a battery; correcting the terminal voltage using the predetermined factor obtained from the characteristic of the battery; and calculating SOC of the battery based on the corrected terminal voltage.
