Zusammenfassung:	An approach is provided for determining and providing contextual notifications and user interface. The approach includes presenting a user interface, wherein the user interface presents an origin point, a destination point, or a combination thereof associated with a user. The approach also includes receiving an input via the user interface for specifying a notification point. Additionally, the approach includes generating a location-based notification based on the notification point, wherein the location-based notification is triggered when the user is within a predetermined proximity of the notification point.
