Zusammenfassung:	A cathode unit for a battery, in which the cathode includes a viscoelastic, and a polymeric gel former selected from the group of natural polysaccharides having a proportion of carboxylate or carboxylic acid groups of greater than or equal to 0.5 and less than or equal to 2.0 in relation to the number of monomer units. Also described is a method for manufacturing the cathode units and the use of a battery including the cathode unit according to the invention for power supply.
