More specifically, the disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for removal of gas phase artifacts from engine exhaust being tested and prior to the exhaust reaching a particulate matter (PM) filter. Such removal provides that the PM filter indicates relatively more accurate evaluation of the particulate matter present.
