Zusammenfassung:Techniques and mechanisms described herein facilitate the leveraging of social trends to identify relevant content. According to various embodiments, social media information may be used to identify a trending topic that is a recent topic of frequent discussion on a social network. Keywords associated with the trending topic may be used to identify media content related to the trending topic. In particular embodiments, trending topics or related content may be selected based on geographic location or an individual user's social network.
