Zusammenfassung: | Embodiments described herein identify hot pages associated with a virtual machine that is selected for hibernation or for migration from one computing system to another. For example, before hibernating a virtual machine, a hypervisor monitors the entries in a page table (i.e., a virtual translation table) to see what data pages have corresponding entries in the page table. If a data page has a corresponding entry in the page table, the hypervisor may designate that page as hot. In one embodiment, the hypervisor may update a page map that lists the data pages associated with the virtual machine and whether those data pages are designated as hot. The page map may then be stored during the hibernation process. Before the hibernated virtual machine is resumed, the hypervisor may use the page map to load the hot pages into memory and begin executing the virtual machine. |
