Zusammenfassung:	A device and method for controlling a removable storage medium to prevent data leakage are provided. The device includes a storage medium determination unit, a storage medium policy acquisition unit, and a storage medium control unit. The storage medium determination unit determines whether a connected storage medium is a removable storage medium. If the storage medium is the removable storage medium, the storage medium policy acquisition unit acquires hierarchical storage medium policies having a hierarchical structure for the storage medium. The storage medium control unit controls the storage medium by switching between a storage medium connection state and a storage medium usage state using the acquired hierarchical storage medium policies.
