Zusammenfassung:	An elevator installation has at least one elevator car and at least one counterweight which are displaced in opposing directions along at least one guide track in an elevator shaft by a supporting and driving apparatus that is guided by a drive pulley of a drive. The supporting and driving apparatus is fastened directly to the elevator car eccentrically with respect to a center of gravity of the elevator car so that a tilting or load moment results thereby, wherein the tilting or load moment is compensated by a compensation device.
