Zusammenfassung:A separator spline formed of a foamed, halogen-free polymeric material for separating twisted pairs of conductors is described. The isolator may take the shape of an "X", a +, a rod, a star configuration, a tube or a flat rectangular shape, with the isolator separating twisted pairs of conductors. In the case of the "X"-shape, the twisted pairs are separated by the arms of the X. The halogen-free polymeric material is preferably selected from a resin selected from the group of polyetherimide (PEI), polyetherimide/polysiloxane copolymer, elastomer-modified-polyphenylene-ether blend, and combinations thereof. The isolator and twisted pairs are preferably part of a communication cable and being covered with a sheath.
