The adjustable bed base (12) comprises an articulated deck (50) comprising head, seat, leg and foot deck boards (52, 54, 56, 58) hingedly joined together and supported by a frame (32). A foam shroud is secured to the periphery of the articulated deck (50). The foam shroud may have multiple openings made by removing material from the shroud to aid in articulation of the shroud.
