The rigid support has a support surface for receiving the cat scratching medium and the cat scratching medium has a first surface and a second surface, the first surface suitable for scratching and the second surface to be received by the rigid support. The support surface and second surface have complimentary releasable connectors facilitating the selective attachment of the scratching medium to the rigid support.
