Zusammenfassung:	A device for detecting at least one flow characteristic of a fluid medium, in particular for detecting an air mass flow in the intake air of a motor vehicle, includes at least one flow channel, through which the fluid medium may flow, and at least one sensor element, which is situated in the flow channel, for detecting the flow characteristic. The sensor element has at least one heating element. The device includes at least one bidirectional electrical interface. The device is configured to receive information and transmit information via the bidirectional electrical interface.
