Angular rotation sensors are secured to the limb and the associated data is processed to determine angular rate reversals. Alternatively, image capture systems can be used to identify rate reversals. Based on two or more rate reversals, subject gait and gait characteristics can be evaluated, even for subjects having shuffling gaits.
