A metal current collector including a metal substrate having grooves formed along a triple junction line of a surface thereof and a conductive layer formed on the metal substrate has a large surface area and low electrical resistance. This metal current collector can be effectively used in electrochemical capacitors with high capacity and high output characteristics by improving contact characteristics with an active material layer.
