System and Method for Transmitting Data Between Communication Terminals

The invention relates to a system for transmitting data between at least two communication terminals (10, 20), comprising a) at least one first communication terminal (10) and a second communication terminal (20), wherein at least one communication terminal (10, 20) is designed as a mobile device, in particular a hand-held device, b) a switching unit (30) that can be coupled to all communication terminals (10, 20) by way of a data network (100), characterized by c) a means (40) for calculating and/or evaluating the spatial distance of the communication terminals (10, 20), d) a means (50) for determining and/or evaluating time intervals of communication inquiries (200, 201, 202, 203) to the switching unit (30) in order to initiate data transmission between the at least two communication terminals (10, 20), e) wherein a connecting means (60) associated with the switching unit (30) controls the data transmission, depending on predeterminable threshold values of the spatial distance of the at least two communication terminals (10, 20) and the time intervals between the communication inquiries (200, 201, 202, 203). The invention further relates to a method, to communication terminals (10, 20), and to a switching unit (30).
