The invention uses catechins (such as epigallocatechin gallate ("EGCG"), epigallocatechin ("EGC"), epicatechin gallate ("ECG"), epicatechin ("EC"), gallocatechin gallate ("GCG"), gallocatechin ("GC"), catechin gallate ("CG") and catechin ("C")) in treating and/or preventing nicotine or nicotine-derived compounds or estrogen induced breast cancer.
