Zusammenfassung:	A method of dissolving an oxidized polysaccharide in an aqueous solution using an oligomer additive is described. The resulting aqueous solution of the oxidized polysaccharide may be used in combination with an aqueous solution comprising an amine-containing component to prepare hydrogel tissue adhesives and sealants for medical and veterinary applications, such as wound closure, supplementing or replacing sutures or staples in internal surgical procedures such as intestinal anastomosis and vascular anastomosis, tissue repair, ophthalmic procedures, drug delivery, and to prevent post-surgical adhesions.
