Zusammenfassung:An image forming apparatus includes the following elements. A transport unit transports a medium on which plural marks are formed at predetermined intervals in the transport direction of the medium. An image forming unit forms an image on the medium. A reading unit is disposed to oppose positions at which the plural marks on the medium are formed so as to read the medium and to generate read information. A detecting unit detects the plural marks from the read information in accordance with predetermined times based on the predetermined intervals of the plural marks. A position adjusting unit adjusts the position of the image to be formed on the medium on the basis of a result of detecting the plural marks. A speed adjusting unit adjusts the transport speed of the medium on the basis of the read information.
