Zusammenfassung:	To highly precisely adjust a position of a headrest automatically and to an appropriate condition with simple configuration, when the distance between the headrest and .a head is within a certain range, a detecting circuit of a headrest position adjustment device calculates an estimated height-direction center position of the head based on sensing signals from a plurality of sensing electrodes. Based on the calculated value, the detecting circuit detects the height position of the head. When the distance between the headrest and the head is not within the certain range, the detecting circuit detects the height position of the head based on sensing signals from at least the sensing electrode located at a lowermost position and the sensing electrode located at an uppermost position among the plurality of sensing electrodes.
