Zusammenfassung:A method for operating a mouse wheel of a mouse of a computer according to a position of a cursor pointer of the mouse is provided. According to the method, a software is used to partition a screen frame or a software window frame into at least two sub-fields. Each of the sub-fields is corresponding to a predetermined related mouse wheel functional operation instruction. When a cursor pointer of the mouse is moved into one of the sub-fields, and while the mouse wheel is in operation, the predetermined related mouse wheel functional operation instruction corresponding to the sub-field in which the cursor pointer is instantly located is then initiated and executed.
