Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a display device in which the adhesive for bonding the display panel and the substrate to each other is prevented from remaining as an uncured portion, and a method for production thereof. The present invention provides: a display device comprising a display panel, a substrate disposed on a display side, and an adhesive layer via which the display panel and the substrate are bonded to each other, wherein the adhesive layer contains a cationically polymerized resin; and the method for production thereof. The adhesive layer more preferably has a refractive index corresponding to that of a member adjacent to the adhesive layer.
