Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus for trimming and splicing of optical waveguides is disclosed. One embodiment of the apparatus includes a holding device for holding one of the optical waveguides, a trimming device for trimming of one of the optical waveguides and a control device for controlling a movement of at least one of the holding device and the trimming device. The control device drives at least one of the holding device and the trimming device such that the at least one of the holding device and the trimming device is moved to a first position at which one of the optical waveguides can be trimmed by means of the trimming device.
