Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a eukaryotic cell capable of producing butanol and ethanol at a ratio butanol:ethanol of between 1:2 to 1:100. The present invention further relates to a process for the preparation of butanol and ethanol comprising fermenting a eukaryotic cell in a suitable fermentation broth, wherein butanol and ethanol are produced at a ratio butanol:hethanol of between 1:2 to 1:100 and a process for the recovery of butanol and ethanol from an aqueous solution comprising butanol and ethanol wherein the ratio butanol:ethanol is between 1:2 to 1:100 comprising, separating an ethanol/butanol/water mixture from the aqueous solution; separating an ethanol/water mixture from the ethanol/butanol/water mixture; separating a butanol/water mixture from the ethanol/butanol/water mixture; and recovering of butanol and ethanol.
