The active ingredient is preferably a carotenoid. The preferred protective colloids are prolamines. The invention compositions are simple to produce, have good bioavailability and dyestuff yield, and are used an addition to animal feed agents, foods, and dietary supplements and pharmaceutical and cosmetic agents.
