A plurality of tabs may extend from the base, the plurality of tabs extending outwardly beyond the side walls when the side walls are operably coupled with the at least a portion of the second housing portion. One or more retention structures may be provided on the outer portion of the housing to inhibit longitudinal movement of the latch assembly within a recess in a window sash when the latch is installed in the recess.
