Zusammenfassung:	The magnetic head having shielding layers is capable of preventing fluctuation of output caused by magnetic domain structures of the shielding layers, stabilizing the output, restraining variation of products and improving production yield. The magnetic head comprises: shielding layers for magnetically shielding a magnetoresistance effect reproducing element; hard films being located on the both sides of the magnetoresistance effect reproducing element as seen from a facing surface which faces a recording medium; and soft magnetic layers being composed of a soft magnetic material, the soft magnetic layers being located on the both sides of the shielding layers as seen from the facing surface.
