Zusammenfassung:	In a method for longitudinal sealing of electrical conductors (2) that comprise one or more conductor elements (21) disposed inside an external sheath (22), and comprise cavities (23) between the individual conductor elements (21) and between the individual conductor elements (21) and the external sheath (22), according to the present invention the one end (2a), requiring sealing, of the conductor (2) is immersed in a liquid sealing compound (3), and the other end (2b) of the conductor (2) has negative pressure applied to it. A sealing apparatus (1) suitable for carrying out said method encompasses a supply reservoir (4) for the liquid sealing compound (3) into which the one end (2a), requiring sealing, of the conductor (2) is immersed; and a negative-pressure source (5) to which the other end (2b) of the conductor (2) is connected.
