The device includes a housing, within which a bullet mount of a core wire of a first cable receives an end bullet of a core wire of a second cable. The device also includes a biasing mechanism for biasing the core wire of the first cable and the core wire of the second cable away from each other so that the core wires can be kept tensioned so as to function as a single core wire.
