Zusammenfassung:	A catalyst material is provided for treating products created during combustion which is developed for the catalytic conversion of carbon-containing particles, the catalyst material being applied onto a carrier and the catalyst material including cerium as one catalyst component. In order to provide a catalyst material, using which the catalytic conversion of carbon-containing particles is able to be improved, the catalyst components have at least one additional catalyst component besides cerium, the proportion of cerium amounting to at least 92 mol-% with respect to the entire quantity of the catalyst components. A method is also provided for preparing a catalyst material.
