The printing apparatus 200 includes: a print data analysis unit 203 having a layout area information obtainment unit 2032 which obtains layout area information indicating a layout area, and an effective drawing area information obtainment unit 2033 which obtains effective drawing area information indicating a printing area which is dependent on the printing apparatus 200; and a layout unit 204 which lays out, based on the size of the object data which is the object to be printed and the size of a layout area on layout area, and in addition lays out, based on the size of the layout area and an effective drawing area, the layout area onto the effective drawing area.
